Front Row Motorsports Heluva Good at The Glen Qualifying Recap

Track: Watkins Glen International, 2.45-mile road course, Watkins Glen, New York
No. 37 Long John Silver's Ford Team Starting Position: 41

Front Row Motorsports will have all three of its cars making the right and left turns of Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International. David Gilliland qualified for the race on speed during Saturday's time trials, joining teammates Travis Kvapil and Kevin Conway for Sunday's road-course race in the scenic hills of New York's Finger Lakes.

Carl Edwards earned his first pole of the season with a lap time of 1:10.882 and a speed of 124.432 miles per hour. Jamie McMurray, one of the series' hottest drivers right now, will complete Row 1. J.J. Yeley, Dave Blaney and Tony Ave did not qualify for the race.

The teams will now make final adjustments to the cars for tomorrow's race, which begins at 1 p.m. on ESPN.

Comments from Long John Silver's Team Driver Travis Kvapil after qualifying:

"Today's qualifying wasn't all that spectacular. Obviously, being locked in the show, we didn't put a lot of emphasis on it, but I would've liked to have done a little better.

"We've been fighting a little bit of brake issues this weekend, and we had a little problem with it during qualifying. So obviously we're going to try to get that corrected for the race. The car was pretty loose and I just couldn't really put the power down on corner exits, so we'll be making changes there for the race, too.

"It's tough. I don't have a whole lot of laps in road-course racing experience. I'm thankful David (Gilliland) did a good job with the 38 team and got that car in the show. So we'll just ride this one out and try to get a good finish."
