Front Row Motorsports with Yates Racing Showtime Southern 500 Recap
Travis Kvapil, No. 34 A&W All American Food Ford Team
Starting Position: 40
Finishing Position: 26
Travis Kvapil and the No. 34 A&W All American Food Ford team fought the challenging conditions of Darlington Raceway all weekend long, scraping the wall in Friday's practice and battling a slick track in qualifying to earn a 40th-place starting position.
But Kvapil and the A&W team refused to give in to the track "Too Tough to Tame" during Saturday night's race, making adjustments at each pit stop to improve the handling and avoiding multiple wrecks throughout the evening. Kvapil and the No. 34 team finished in the 26th position.
Comments from A&W All American Food Ford Team Driver Travis Kvapil after the Showtime Southern 500:
"I love this place but, man, that was a tough race. The car was just really tight in Turns 3 and 4. We just couldn't get the grip we needed for most of the race to really make a charge.
"But we did pretty well avoiding some wrecks in front of us. My spotter did a great job. So all things considered, the A&W All American Ford had an OK day."
