Front Row Motorsports Coca-Cola 600 Qualifying Recap

Track: Charlotte Motor Speedway, 1.5-mile oval, Charlotte, North Carolina

No. 38 $1 Baja Fish Taco Team Starting Position: 41

Notes:

Front Row Motorsports qualified all three of its cars for the longest race of the NASCAR season, Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Qualifying took place Thursday afternoon under hot, slippery conditions at the 1.5-mile oval after the teams worked through practice to find the best set-ups for the weather-sensitive track. The No. 37 Taco Bell Ford team also overcame the challenge of needing to qualify on speed.

Ryan Newman claimed his first pole of the 2010 season with a speed of 187.546 miles per hour and a 28.793-second lap. Kurt Busch, the winner of last weekend's All-Star race at the speedway, will start on the outside pole.

No track activity is scheduled for Friday. Barring rainy weather, which is projected for the weekend, the teams will be back on track Saturday to fine-tune their cars for Sunday's marathon race. The Coca-Cola 600 will be broadcast live on FOX Sunday beginning at 5:45 p.m.

Comments from $1 Baja Fish Taco Team Driver Travis Kvapil after qualifying:

"My qualifying run wasn't very good. When we unloaded today, the car actually felt really good. But in the qualifying run, we were really tight out there, and I am really disappointed with that lap and how the car drove. I felt like at the end of practice it was not bad and we made some adjustments from there."

"We just were tight and lost lots of speed from the center of the corner off. We have our work cut out for ourselves because we are going to be starting in the back. I think our race car is good, though. Hopefully we can move up over 600 miles."
