Front Row Motorsports with Yates Racing KOBALT Tools 500 Recap

Starting Position: 40
Finishing Position: 30

Travis KvapilNotes:
It was a long day for Travis Kvapil and the No. 34 Long John Silver's Ford team Sunday afternoon at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Starting in the 40th position, the team was never able to get out of a track position battle and was instead left with battling only a few cars on their own lap. The result was a 30th-place finish.

It was apparent early in the 500-mile race that Kvapil was fighting the handling of his car. A torrid pace was being set by the leaders and by Lap 40 Kvapil was sent one lap down. The team was able to move up through the back of the field, but the timing of the early cautions put them in a box that became impossible to work out of.

On Lap 168 Kvapil was racing in 32nd on a lap by himself, unable to pass cars. He raced in that position for the majority of the race, getting the car better, but not in a position to gain spots.

The team was able to get every spot they could and by the end of the day finished in the 30th spot. Kvapil dropped three spots to 32nd in driver points. The team did move up one position in owner points to 34th.

Comments from Long John Silver's Ford Team Driver Travis Kvapil after the KOBALT Tools 500:

"We just missed the setup today. It's really too bad because the car wasn't that bad at all. We were better at the end, but we were on a lap by ourselves or only racing a few guys all day today. It's a shame because we weren't bad in practice on Saturday. We just missed it a little bit and it really bit us early."
